About the role
Relyion Energy is looking for an ESS Software Engineer to join their quickly growing team. In this role, you will be part of a larger team with the mission to enable a Circular Economy and provide a second life to EV batteries. The ideal candidate would have recent experience in a small start-up environment or be comfortable joining a company at this early stage. The company is in the process of closing its seed fundraising round so the opportunities are boundless. This role reports to our CTO and you would be one of 6 – 8 team members within this critical organization. This is a 100% on-site position with limited to no remote opportunity
Responsibilies
- Responsible for the EMS/BMS Work across multiple charging system domains.
- Responsible for the design, development, and execution of Battery Management System (BMS) software and controls applications in both 48V and high-voltage battery systems
- Responsible for specifying, implementing, and validating BMS software related to electric battery and charging systems
- Author BMS software requirements and specification document
- Work with Battery Systems and supplier teams to develop a functional design and implementation of battery management system software features
- Implement and validate functional requirements including simulation of battery storage systems
Required Qualifications
- BS/MS in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering / Computer Science
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in developing and integrating software solutions with electric vehicles, EV charging and Stationary Charging solutions
- Extensive experience with BMS systems in Battery application for Grid/Microgrid, C&I and Residential applications
- Experience with Embedded Linux systems
- Experience with Bluetooth/CAN/Modbus communications
- Experience with development of User Interfaces is required
- Expert Software programming skills in Python
- Experience with AI is required
- Knowledge of UL and CE Certification requirements is desirable
- Ability to work without Visa sponsorship
