About the role
Relyion Energy is looking for a Power Electronics Engineer to join their quickly growing R&D team. In this role, you will be part of a larger team with the mission to enable a Circular Economy and provide a second life to EV batteries. The ideal candidate would have recent experience in a small start-up environment or be comfortable joining a company at this early stage. The company is in the process of closing its seed fundraising round so the opportunities are boundless. This role reports to our CTO and you would be one of 6 – 8 team members within this critical organization. This is a 100% on-site position with limited to no remote opportunity.
Responsibilies
- Design and develop power electronics systems for a variety of applications, renewable energy systems, battery management systems, inverter integrations
- Conduct feasibility studies and evaluate design concepts and products to determine the best approach for each project.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
- Conduct testing and validation of power electronics systems to ensure that they meet performance and safety requirements.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and field service teams as needed.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in power electronics and related technologies.

o EV Charging
o C&I Applications
o Residential
- Design Cut Off protection solutions
- Develop controller applications
- Responsible for Data Acquisition systems
- Support all UL and other certification requirements
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Power Electronics or related focus
- 3+ years of experience in power electronics design and development is desirable
- PCB design experience is required
- Strong understanding of Energy Storage Systems, Inverters and Grid
- Deep understanding of industry standards such as UL and CE
- Familiarity of all available battery technologies
- Strong knowledge of power systems, inverter design and operation
- Proved track record of being a team player on cross-functional projects
- A quick learner and team player
- Excellent verbal and written communications
- Ability to work without Visa sponsorship
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- A “success” oriented mindset
