About the role
Relyion Energy has an exciting opportunity to join our fast-growing team to lead our Sales team. This role is critical to our long-term success in the Long Duration Energy Storage sector.
As the Head of Sales, you will define, build and lead an organization that engages across the C&I and Grid marketplace. Your ability to drive commercial contracts inside large & complex accounts is superb; and your ability to manage customers and deliver on multi-year programs from contract signing and into production is proven. You’re able to build high-trust relationships with fellow executives; and you enjoy getting into the details of the business and can not only present at a high level, but also operate hands-on in critical areas. You are comfortable working in a start-up environment and enjoy wearing many hats.
You bring experience in highly technical, automotive, clean-tech, solar, BESS sales and/or industrial sectors. Beyond the excitement of closing a deal, you’re resolute and are even more motivated by the ultimate finish line of seeing the deal turn into production shipments and revenue.
Responsibilies
- Develop and promote a vision and mission for the Commercial Sales team to ensure all members of the organization understand clear, simple objectives and priorities.
- Establish strategic direction around GEO, Market Verticals, and Channel strategy.
- Align corporate strategy to effectively implement Commercial Sales revenue target. This requires a deep understanding of the strategic direction and strong ability to influence the direction of our Product Strategy.
- Accountable to meet revenue targets which meet margin goals.
- Exhibiting and promoting Relyion's core values of People, Innovation, Collaboration and Customer Focus.
- This role will require high energy and the ability to multi-task, communicate and execute exceedingly well.
- Ensure a great customer/partner experience and lead the business and strategy
Required Qualifications
- BA in Business Administration or equivalent preferred
- Clear ability to be a Tactical hunter/farmer and a Strategic vision setter.
- Prefer a rolodex of Commercial and Industrial relationships with EPC’s, Electrical Contractors, Integrators, Developers, Distributors, VAR’s.
- Commercial Channel Sales Account management in the Energy Storage sector.
- Consistent track record to develop strategic Commercial channel sales business plans.
- Customer focused approach with persuasive communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong executive presence and Sr. Executive level communication skills.
- Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strategic thinking and visionary leadership.
- Effective team leadership skillset and attributes.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams.

- Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to effectively engage with boards, partners, and investors through compelling presentations at meetings and conferences.
- The starting base pay for this role is between $140,000 and $200,000. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Relyion’s Total Rewards plan which would include equity, commissions and bonuses.
